There is no chargeback on a confirmed tip

Creators ask this when a fan overpays, when a parent wants last night's tip back, or when they sent to themselves on the wrong chain while testing. The chain does not have a refund button. You do.

Confirmed means kept

Once a tip has confirmations on the network you named, it is not a pending card charge. There is no issuer, no dispute code, and no BlockchainTips back office. Confirm it arrived before you argue about it. Unconfirmed is still a maybe. Confirmed is a new payment if you want it undone.

If you still want to return it

Ask them for an address on the same network, send the amount minus the fee you are willing to eat, and keep the outgoing hash. Do not send to an address they paste in a rush if the chain name does not match. If you no longer hold the keys, you cannot refund anyone — that is the lost-seed case.

Wrong network

USDC on Ethereum sent to a Solana-only address, or the reverse, is the expensive version of this question. Sometimes a host or a bridge support desk can help if the destination is a custodial account they control. Often nobody can. This is why every jar page on this site nags you to label the network before the first scan.

What to say publicly

Say that tips are final unless you choose to send them back. Put that under the QR. It saves the email that starts “I thought it worked like PayPal.” Taxes on a returned tip are a local-advice question; see taxes on crypto tips and then a person who can file where you live.
