If the seed is gone, the jar is gone

Creators ask this after the first good month, when the only copy of the words was a screenshot. The answer is ugly and short. There is no undo.

What lost means

The seed phrase is the wallet. A hardware device without the seed is a brick. A phone wallet you factory-reset without the paper is the same brick. If a copy exists — a steel plate, a second written card, a passphrase you still know — you are restoring, not grieving. If it does not, the coins on that address are not yours to move.

What you can still do

Remove every published QR and payment link: site, bio, merch print, YouTube description. Say so once, in public, so a follower does not keep sending into a dead jar. Stand up a new wallet, write the seed on paper, store it the way wallet basics describes, then generate a new QR. If you used an exchange deposit address as the jar, the emergency is different: log in, or you are in that exchange's recovery process, not a seed process.

What you cannot do

You cannot refund those tips. You cannot ask BlockchainTips to sweep them. You cannot pay a “recovery specialist” who messages you first — that is the rest of the scam list. The habit

Write the seed before the first QR goes public. Two paper copies, two places. Never a photo roll, never a host's laptop, never a Discord DM to yourself. Self-custody is the point of this site. It is also the failure mode.
